Things are extremely not good right now!

I’m sure y’all have been hearing about what’s happening in MN the past few weeks. We’ve also had an increased presence here in ME and it has been scary. We are a much smaller city/state and the affects have had a far-reaching impact on our communities.

People are being ripped out of their cars and kidnapped in grocery store parking lots. One man was taken on the way back to the hospital to visit his newborn. One of the schools where I teach PreK music has had increased absences because parents are scared to leave their homes. It is not a good time.

BUT, that said, it has been truly incredible to see the hyper-local underground organizing take off. If you want to help from afar you can donate to SoPo Helps, one of the local mutual aid teams that have popped up here.

If you are local, I have a gig coming up this weekend at SPACE in downtown Portland and we’ll be donating a portion of profits to a local non-profit helping New Mainers deal with this crisis. I hope to see you there!

Stay safe and warm out there, friends.

a lil bit of fun

My incredible friend and local Maine-based artist Abe Tensia made this fantastic design. She’s doing pre-orders for the next batch of t-shirts so grab one for you and your kiddo. All proceeds go toward Maine Solidarity Fund’s local relief efforts.
